Hello!  Welcome to my blog about Building a Barden Home!  My wife and I have been in the process of building a Barden Home since late 2007.  When I say, “In the Process”, that includes a month or so of us looking through the floor plans online, prior to make any contact with Barden Homes. 

While researching Barden Homes, I Googled quite a bit, trying to find someone that has documented their experience with building their Barden Home, as well as their ongoing opinion of the quality of their build after completion.  I was stunned to find that I could barely locate a review of Barden Homes online. 

That is the motivation behind this blog.  I want to share our experience in building a Barden Home, and I hope it will help people in the future to make their decision to build.  Hopefully, you can learn from any mistakes I make along the way, which I hope will be few!

While, we haven’t just started the process, we really aren’t that far long, so I will back up a bit in my next couple of posts to bring you up to speed.  Please don’t be confused when I say that after nearly 10 months, we’re not that far along in the process.  That was entirely our decision.  We had a new baby, sold our home, and helped to plan a wedding :).  So, we slowed the process down a bit.  I must say, it was very refreshing to find out that Barden Homes didn’t pressure us to move forward, and in fact fully supported us in our delay.

As I said, I will provide a series of posts that cover, in more detail, what we have done to date, and why we are going with Barden Homes.  I just wanted to say hello, and give an overview of what I’ll be posting about.  I plan on blogging the whole process, in hopes that it helps future buyers of a Barden Home.  Welcome, and I hope you enjoy the journey!
